October 18, 2023 Hoffmann Hillermann Newsletter

Hello Friends,

The weather forecast for this week is showing Wonderful Fall Weather with high temperatures in the 60’s and 70’s. Perfect weather for FALL PLANTING! Trees and Shrubs will have less transplant shock and the roots can grow in winter. Spring Blooming Flower Bulbs need the cold weather to trigger their growth and flowers in spring. We have a great selection of trees, shrubs and bulbs. B&B Trees are on SALE! – see the details among the articles below. Stop by and get started on your new landscape and flower bulb plantings. They will be beautiful next spring!

Rain has been very spotty in our area. If it did rain, it wasn’t much in most areas, so be sure to check the soil in your yard and gardens regularly. Water landscape plants anytime the soil is dry a couple inches down. Soil needs to stay moist for tender new grass growth. Water new grass anytime it looks like the soil is just starting to dry (keep the soil moist, but not soggy). New grass plants will easily die if the soil dries out. Old and especially new landscape plantings need to be watered when there is not enough rain through Fall and Winter. Take advantage of warmer days during dry periods in winter and give your plants a drink whenever possible. They will be happier and healthier when spring arrives.

We have some great fall decorations and giftware items in the Garden Center. Our silk flower arrangements and décor items also make wonderful gifts! Visit us for a good selection of items for all your Fall Planting, Decorating and Gifting Needs.

Get Outside and Enjoy the Season!
